Content & Specialty Collaborations

These hour-long virtual meetings are optional opportunities for educators, academic leaders, and counselors from different schools to get together, check in, and discuss teaching, learning, and community. Collaborations are also hosted based on needs of community, such as HyFlex instruction, AP testing updates, and supporting small groups of students with high needs.

Webinars and Workshops

Content and Specialty Webinars / Workshops in Partnership with Vendors. These webinars and workshops offer professional development for content specific instructional practice, as well as train-the-trainer opportunities on relevant topics like social-emotional learning and distance learning for counselors, academic leaders, and administrators in schools.

New(er) Teacher and New(er) Counselor Workshop Series

These are interactive workshops for teachers and counselors new to teaching, new to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, or experienced teachers of all levels who want to collaborate and engage with new ideas, further develop their instructional or counseling practices, and connect with other educators from different schools in their field.

Growth Assessment Tool Leader Workshops and Collaborations

These workshops and collaborations offer opportunities for leaders to look at academic data in a meaningful way and share their approaches to data analysis and actioning planning at their school site. In addition to sharing resources and current best practices, these sessions offer spaces for leaders and teachers to connect with others to share best practices and ideas for supporting student learning.

Site Support Visits

The Onward 4 Excellence team offers to meet with school academic leadership teams (virtually or in-person) to engage as thought partners on the needs, questions, and development of the culture of learning unique to each school site. Some discussion topics include: supporting student learning in distance and in-person modes, ideas for authentic assessments, increasing capacity of department and academic leaders, social-emotional learning (SEL) supports for faculty, staff, and students, approaches to differentiation, and focus skills for intervention by utilizing academic data.
